ELDOA stretches are posture normalizing techniques developed by World renowned Osteopathic Doctor Guy Voyer. The specific goal of the ELDOAs is to create space (think disc decompression) at each intervertebral joint junction of the spine.
There are at least one ELDOA for every articulation, or joint in the spine starting at the skull and ending with the sacroiliac joints of the pelvis.
If someone is experiencing pain because of compression between L5 (lower back) and S1 (sacrum of the pelvis) there is a specific ELDOA that targets and decompresses the L5-S1 joint space as well as normalizing the surrounding soft tissue structures to help maintain the newly created space between the two vertebrae (bones).
ELDOAs have also been developed for other joints of the body. These include ELDOAs for the sacroiliac joints of the pelvis, shoulders (all 5 joints on each side!), ribs, and skull.
Benefits of ELDOA
”In three weeks of ELDOA training with Deane my low back pain has been relieved and I am mostly out of pain…”
”This is way harder for me than weight training or anything like that. It’s a lot of holding your body in different situations and if you are just looking at it, it doesn’t look as hard then you go and do it, and it’s definitely challenging.”
