START MOVING!
We are born to move. We know that moving is healthy for us and when we move we feel and look healthier. Unfortunately we do not move very much today. Our modern environment, with its flat and smooth surfaces to walk on, comfortable chairs to sit on and little need to leave our homes some days is a far cry from the natural and unpredictable environments our brains and bodies evolved to navigate and move through. For our ancestors, survival was dependent on having strong and healthy bodies that could move well in complex and unpredictable environments.
WE HAVE REPLACED MOVEMENT WITH EXERCISING…AND IT IS HURTING US!
Today, we have changed how we move and we have labeled it exercise. In many cases modern exercise does not even vaguely resemble what movements our ancestors had to perform to have strong and resilient bodies. You need look no further than modern fitness technologies such as weight-training and cardio equipment. These, and other popular exercise practices do not respect how we are designed to move. This places tremendous strain on the bodies biomechanics and musculoskeletal system. Eventually this can lead to changes in joint mechanics, postural dysfunction and functional impairments.
The Answer?
Introducing MOVEX, a Movement-Based Exercise Program designed to promote healthy, functional and resilient humans like you.
What are the benefits of the MOVEX program?
Our bodies are designed to move, and to move in an adaptive and dynamic manner. Today, our urban bodies are rarely challenged dynamically unless we actively seek out exercises or movements outside of our normal lives. That’s okay, as long as we are doing that. But what does dynamic movement mean to us today? If we use the typical example of what that really entails it’s heading to the gym (or at home) and doing what everyone else is doing to achieve the same result. It’s machines, it’s all types of equipment and weights, it’s flat surfaces and expensive footwear, it’s loud music, memberships, driving to the gym……..
All this to get your workout in each day. What say you didn’t have to go through all that? And be healthier and feel better for it. You can, and it’s really simple to do.
Stronger-Faster-Fitter
All of us are in possession of the greatest technology ever developed to achieve physical fitness and it’s OUR BODIES! Our bodies are perfectly designed to be strong, quick, agile, reactive and adaptive, with balance and confidence and endurance. Basically, to move with ease and confidence while navigating through different environments and terrains. At any age! And without the use of unnatural technologies!
Pain & Dysfunction Paradigm
Given the appropriate interventions you are gifted with a body that naturally wants to be in comfort and symptoms managed. If you are not moving, and moving well then you will have a primary driver contributing to your musculoskeletal issues. As bold a statement that is it is true. We need to move, and depending on the environments you are regularly in the way you move (your body) must be resilient to endure the demands and traumas placed upon you. That is, if you want to keep doing it.
DYNAMIC FUNCTIONAL MOVEMENT (DFM) TRAINING SYSTEM
The Dynamic Functional Movement Training System is a training system designed to improve how you move in the real world- more specifically, your world. Whether you are an adventure warrior, competitive athlete or a mother wanting to keep up with her children, DFM will help you keep up with your life!
Deane:
“I strongly encourage anyone who is not already doing so to invest some time each day practicing movement and mobility drills, at least for physical wellbeing and longevity. It has been my personal and professional experience that myself, my clients and my athletes all respond favorably, often dramatically when Dynamic Functional Movement was incorporated into our fitness programs.”
